Official!

As of today, we are officially homeschoolers. I sent in our Notice of Intent (NOI) today.  Since Froggy is not yet six, we had the option this year of either "opting out" of school (ie saying she is not ready for Kindergarten) or submitting a NOI.  We chose an NOI since it was easier and less paperwork. 

It does not make any difference to how our year goes and we have other supervisory issues but still it feels neat to be "official" at last.

    Yay - mazel tov!!!
    I think, theoretically, we need to submit a Notice of Intent to Homeschool... but I never have and won't unless someone specifically asks. It's a gray area; I think many homeschoolers here just don't file anything.

    I'm confused. How can you opt out of kindergarten by saying the child isn't ready, if said child is of age for K? I didn't even know it was possible!

WFMW - Sewing Machine

What works for me this week is my sewing machine. I am in love with my sewing machine. I have missed it. I have been so busy with my classwork that I have not pulled it out since I finished Froggy's Halloween costume. This week has been a return to normalacy and for me normalcy means sewing. I finished finding m y c raft room on Monday. So yesterday I sewed. I made a skirt for me testing out a new pattern. The pattern is basic and easy with very little fitting. It is not the most flattering of patterns but it supposed to be a plain backdrop for embellishments. I may add a bit of shaping so it is not so full through the hips when I make it again with the embellishments. As soon as the weather dries out, I can go outside and spread out and sandwich together the baby quilts I need to finish up for the new arrivals that are almost here.
